Why this website?
The project has a team of three, located in different parts of the state, with different schedules and obligations. To coordinate our work, and to keep us all abreast on developments, a website seems like a useful tool.
As the project evolves, keeping the kmz files it generates on this website permits anyone who is interested to download them and try them out. Eventually the site will have feedback capabilities, and user input can be considered as we make modifications and improvements. Furthermore, we might get a handle on how popular our efforts are by monitoring the site's usage statistics.
